No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal legislation and Florida statute require that schools provide
parents with an annual school status report at the beginning of each school year. The Florida
Department of Education has produced a No Child Left Behind/School Public Accountability
Report (NCLB/SPAR) for each school containing all the required NCLB indicators, including
the indicator on Annual Yearly Progress (AYP

The staff at Somerset Academy Davie works hard to provide the educational framework which allows for continued cognitive, social and emotional development for the children enrolled in our program. In addition, a true learning community must include resources outside the school site. We consider YOU and your many contributions as parents/guardians and grandparents, to be our greatest resource toward the ongoing support, both educational and otherwise, of your children.
Volunteering for the school has the potential to “give back” to you personally, as well. It can heighten your awareness about effective and developmentally appropriate relationships with other families in the school, which extends your support system. If you have a special skill, profession, cultural interest, talent, or simply an abundance of physical and mental energy, as well as a little extra time, you are just the person we are looking for. Indeed, we welcome the chance to work with you and to know you better. Thank you for all the support you offer!
Parent As Partners is an active group of parents and teachers dedicated to promoting a sense of community. Not only does the P.A.P help build relationships, it also raises money for various school improvements and initiatives designated by the Somerset Davie Administration such as equipment, and materials, student field trips, etc. The P.A.P meets monthly and meeting times and places are available through the school newsletters or on the school calendar.
The parent group is subject in all respects to the control of the school, and all Parent As Partners activities and all materials prepared by parents must be submitted to the Principal for approval prior to implementation and/or distribution.
The parent group should strive:
1. To support and promote quality education at the school.
2. To acquaint parents with up-to-date information concerning school functions.
3. To unify parents in an effort to raise funds each year for the school.
PAP Mission Statement
As dedicated parents and teachers, we will work together to raise funds necessary to enhance the learning environment of our students.
We promote sound communications and social activities in order to cultivate a harmonious relationship between home and school and in our community.
The P.A.P’s main purpose is to promote a positive home-school connection and to provide financial as well as moral support for the school’s program as many opportunities are available for parental involvement.
